Which Device Do Children in Canada Prefer to Use When They Have Screen Time for Accessing Content? (% of respondents, by age, Feb 2019)

Description

Children and Teens in Canada were asked which device they prefer to use when they access contents. The responses were broken out by age group: ages 2-6, 7-11 and 12-17. Devices included TV set, tablet, computer and smartphone.

Methodology

Data is from the April 2019 MTM Junior and CBC/Radio Canada study as cited in press release. Total 1,660 households and 2,270 children ages 2-17 in Canada were surveyed online in English and French during January-February 2019. Parents answered the first part of the survey about the technology at home (ex. TV service, Netflix subscription etc.). The second part was for the different age categories: children ages 2-6, 7-11 and teens ages 12-17. Parents responded for children ages 11 and under. The English sample includes 838 households and 1,123 children ages 2-17. French sample includes 822 households and 1,147 children ages 2-17. The national data was weighted to ensure it is regionally and demographically representative of the Canadian population.
