Additional Note: The free ad-supported plans of digital audio streaming services (e.g., Amazon Music Free, iHeartRadio, Pandora’s free plan, Spotify Free, YouTube Music’s free plan) and AM/FM digital streams are included. Some paid plans provide ad-free listening for music but not for podcasts or other audio content that may contain host-read ads; listeners on these plans are counted as ad-supported digital audio listeners. Audio content on video-first platforms (e.g., YouTube) is excluded. Digital streams and direct downloads are included.
Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies; historical trends; and country-specific demographic and socioeconomic factors.
