Additional Note: A smart home thermostat is an interactive device connected via internet and/or Bluetooth (or any other connectivity protocol) that can be controlled and automated by using apps, smart home hubs or voice assistants to interact with other home utility devices. Smart thermostats allow users to monitor, schedule and remotely control home temperatures. They also report energy use and can learn user behaviors. Examples include Ecobee, Google Nest and Honeywell thermostats.
Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, sales projections, historical trends, company-specific data, and demographic and socioeconomic factors.
