US Parent Internet Users' Attitudes Toward the Harm vs. Benefits of Their Child Owning a Smartphone, by Age of Child, Sep 2018 (% of respondents)


Close to half of parents of teens ages 13-17 believe the benefit outweighs the harm of their child owning a smartphone. When the child is much younger, at ages 2-5 and 6-9, only about a third of parents believe there are more benefits than harm.
