Support for an Under-16 Social Media Ban Exceeds Opposition Across Age Groups

Methodology

Data is from the July 2026 Pew Research Center report titled "Majority of Americans Support Banning Social Media for Kids Under 16." 9,750 US adults ages 18+ were surveyed during May 26-June 1, 2026 for Wave 194 of the American Trends Panel (ATP). The survey was conducted online (n=9,464) and via telephone (n=286). The margin of error for the full sample is +/-1.4 percentage points.
