Meta’s latest creator updates encourage original content and consistent posting

The news: Meta debuted two creator publishing tools earlier this week designed to make its platforms a more useful hub for planning, posting, and managing original content.

  • A content planner feature in Creator Studio gives creators a clearer view of their posting calendars so they can spot scheduling gaps and time posts around peak audience engagement. This feature also offers access to performance insights.
  • Meta updated the Reels bulk upload experience, giving creators a more efficient way to upload and manage multiple clips without leaving the workflow.

Zooming out: The updates are part of a broader effort to encourage original creator content on Meta platforms.

  • Meta last year increased incentives for original content creators by introducing new theft protections for Facebook Reels. This update automatically notifies creators when similar or identical content is posted on Facebook or Instagram.
  • Facebook also announced in July plans to penalize accounts posting unoriginal content.
  • Instagram stopped surfacing aggregator accounts in recommendations in 2024 and has since prioritized original posts over reposted material.
