Types of Media that US Teens/Adults Use at Least Daily to Get News, by Age, Feb 2026 (% of respondents in each group)
Methodology
Data is from the April 2026 Media Insight Project report titled "The Evolving News Landscape: Comparing Media Habits and TrustBetween Teens and Adults" conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago. 1,009 US teens ages 13-17 were surveyed online during February 2-16, 2026. In addition, 1,092 US adults ages 18+ were surveyed online and via telephone during February 5-8, 2026. Both surveys used probability samples, and all respondents were offered a small monetary incentive. Results have been weighted to reflect the US population ages 13+. The margin of error for the combined sample is +/- 3.9 percentage points at the 95% confidence level. The Media Insight Project is a joint venture of the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, the American Press Institute (API), Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, and the Local News Network at the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
