Note

Internet users are individuals of any age who use the internet from any location via any device at least once per month. Podcasts are audio-first, serialized episodes designed to be fully experienced through listening alone. They may be distributed on video platforms, but if visual elements are ... required, the content is considered a video program. Internet users who listen to or watch podcasts via video platforms (e.g., YouTube) are included. Smartphones are any voice handset with an advanced operating system (e.g., Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows Phone, etc.) and features/capabilities that resemble a PC. Social networks are sites where the primary activities involve creating a profile and interacting with a network of contacts by sharing status updates, comments, photos, or other content.

Methodology

Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and web traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, the growth trajectory of major social networks, historical trends, internet and mobile adoption trends, and country-specific demographic and socioeconomic factors.
