eMarketer: Click and Collect Sales to Grow 55%

US Click and Collect Buyers

  • In 2019, click and collect ecommerce sales for the entire year will jump 54.9% to reach $36.54 billion.
  • This year, there will be 128.9 million click and collect buyers in the US, up 7.3% over 2018.
  • Next year, buyers using click and collect will nearly reach 69% of total digital buyers and hit 50% of the US population 14 and older.

eMarketer principal analyst Andrew Lipsman commented:

“Click-and-collect is one of the key factors fueling US ecommerce growth today.  It’s especially important for big box retailers like Walmart and Target that retooled their brick-and-mortar operations around seamless pickup,” said Andrew Lipsman, eMarketer principal analyst. “It’s also the single most critical factor behind the rapid growth of grocery ecommerce.  This year, many major grocery chains ramped up their click-and-collect operations.”
