TikTok begins existential court battle for its US business

The news: Oral arguments began this week in TikTok’s fight to overturn the Biden administration’s April law that requires the app to sell to a US owner or be banned outright.

The legislation calls for TikTok to sell to a US entity by January, with a possible 90-day extension if TikTok shows progress toward a deal. A ruling is likely to land in December ahead of that deadline.
