The news: Peacock is joining Prime Video’s ecosystem, giving viewers access to the service as an add-on with Prime subscriptions, per an Amazon announcement. The ad-free version of Comcast’s streaming platform will cost the same on Prime Video as it would individually. Peacock joins the likes of Paramount+, Apple TV+, and HBO Max in becoming part of Prime’s ecosystem.
The companies also renewed deals enabling customers to use Peacock through Amazon Fire TV devices, access Prime Video on the Xfinity X1 platform, and purchase or rent movies from Universal Pictures on Prime.
The move appeals to customers “who are looking for the fastest and easiest way to find all their entertainment and sports in one place,” per head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios Mike Hopkins.
