Table is based on the top US brands in 2020 based on brand value. Leading companies include Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, VISA, Facebook, McDonalds, Mastercard, AT&T, Verizon, IBM, Coca Cola, Marlboro and Home Depot.
Brand value is the dollar amount that the brand contributes to overall business value of the parent company. Brand value is based on financial value and brand contribution.
Data is from the November 2019 Kantar Millward Brown report titled "BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable US Brands 2020" commissioned by WPP. Customer behavior and brand perception data comes from the annual quantitative brand equity study, which analyzes 3.7 million consumers and more than 165,000 different brands in over 50 markets worldwide. Brand value is defined as the dollar amount a brand contributes to the overall value of a corporation. To be eligible for the report, the brand must have originated in the US, be owned by a publicly listed company traded on a credible stock exchange or its financials are available in the public domain, have their most recent valuation publicly available. Telecom brands are owned by a US listed company and mainly operates in the US.
