This chart shows key advertising metrics including total media ad, online ad and mobile ad spending for Europe in 2018.
Note
Total media ad spending includes digital (desktop/laptop, mobile and other internet-connected devices), directories, magazines, newspapers, out-of-home, radio and TV. Digital ad spending includes advertising that appears on desktop and laptop computers as well as mobile phones, tablets and other ... internet-connected devices, and includes all the various formats of advertising on those platforms; excludes SMS, MMS and P2P messaging-based advertising. Mobile ad spending includes display (banners, video and rich media) and search; excludes SMS, MMS and P2P messaging-based advertising; includes ad spending on tablets. Mobile search ad spending includes on search engines, search apps and carrier portals. Mobile display ad spending includes banners, rich media and video on WAP sites, mobile HTML sites and embedded in-app/in-game advertising.
Methodology
Converted from local currency to US dollars. Estimates are based on the analysis of various elements related to the ad spending market, including macro-level economic conditions, historical trends of the advertising market, estimates from other research firms, and consumer media consumption trends.
