The news: YouTube launched Ask YouTube, a conversational AI search tool that lets users look up video content in natural language and refine results through follow-up questions, per TechCrunch.
The platform also integrated Gemini Omni into Shorts Remix and YouTube Create to improve understanding of user intent and consistency in storytelling across short- and long-form video. Omni is able to turn text, audio, and image inputs into videos.
Both features are currently available to YouTube Premium subscribers in the US on desktop.
Why this matters: The launches extend Google's AI Mode expansion into YouTube’s core search and creation experience. Connected TV (CTV) and influencer marketers can use the new tools to develop and refine their content to target YouTube’s massive TV and social media audience.
Recommendations for marketers: YouTube’s AI integrations should motivate marketers to optimize for genAI results and use AI tools to boost their presence within videos that can be more easily customized for both app and CTV audiences.
