The news: To celebrate its 75-year anniversary, a small central-and-upstate-N.Y.-based credit union AmeriCU is offering its members a seven percent checking rate, per Utica Phoenix.

The details: The credit union is temporarily offering a whopping 7% interest on its high-rate checking account on members’ first $10,000. This is highly unusual, as many checking accounts offer no interest rates, and those that do average 0.07% APY, per Business Insider.

AmeriCU is also offering other promotional perks like early direct deposit and ATM rebates if members meet certain criteria.
