The news: Apex Fintech Solutions is launching Apex Alts, a platform designed to expand access to alternative investments, per GlobalData.
The platform will allow clients of broker-dealers, advisory firms, and wealth managers to invest in private credit, private equity, and nontraded REITs through their existing brokerage accounts.
The landscape: Apex is far from the first fintech—or even bank—to offer alternative investments. Fintechs Yieldstreet, Fundrise, Moonfare, and iCapital are just some of Apex’s nonbank competitors. And financial institutions and investment firms offer alternative investment options, but their approaches differ.
