The news: Ent Credit Union and Wings Credit Union—the largest credit unions in Colorado and Minnesota—are planning to merge, which would create a credit union serving nearly 1 million members, per a press release. The new entity would retain the name Wings Credit Union.

What’s next: The merger still requires regulator and member approval. If it gets the green light, it would create the 10th largest credit union in the US—with nearly 90 branch locations across Colorado, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

According to KKTV, the two credit unions will operate independently while seeking all necessary approvals, which could take until early next year.
