The news: Amazon is working on an AI health chatbot that answers medical questions and suggests relevant products, according to CNBC. Amazon’s Health AI chatbot is now in beta testing.

  • Amazon shoppers can ask the chatbot health questions, get health advice, and also receive product suggestions with links to purchase.
  • The chatbot makes over-the-counter and prescription drug suggestions, and directs users to Amazon’s One Medical primary health care service and Amazon Pharmacy.
  • A “clinically verified” tag at the bottom of some of the chatbot responses indicates information “reviewed and confirmed as accurate by medical experts.” Amazon plans to roll out the health chatbot to all US users in the coming months, per CNBC.
