Methodology
Data is from the March 2026 EMARKETER AI Visibility Index. In Q1 2026, EMARKETER analyzed more than 5,200 ChatGPT responses across nine personal care and beauty categories: body care, facial skincare, fragrance, face makeup, eye makeup, lip makeup, haircare, hair color, and oral care. Each query asked ChatGPT for product recommendations using standardized prompts (e.g., "best body lotion," "shampoo for damaged hair"). Queries varied by product type, product attribute, consumer need, target audience, and price tier to capture a representative range of consumer questions for each category.Sources
