The chart shows the percentage of respondents in Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, UK and US who use smartphones or tablets that agreed they were more willing to share their location and personal data in exchange for certain benefits. Those benefits include ... increased safety/security, enable a service, discounts and rewards, convenience and enables personalized service or advertising, among others.

Methodology

Data is from the September 2019 HERE Technologies report titled "The Privacy Paradox Reloaded: Changes in Consumer Behavior and Attitudes Since 2018." 10,176 internet users ages 16-65 from Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, UK and US (over 1,000 respondents in each country) were surveyed online during July-August 2019. All respondents owned smartphones or tablets. Survey respondents are representative of individual markets in gender, geographic regions, and education levels.
