Description
This chart shows US teen boys and US teen girls' perception about their parents' mobile device usage. Responses include that their parents spends too much, too little or the right amount of time on their mobile device.
Methodology
Data is from the May 2019 Common Sense report titled "The New Normal: Parents, Teens, Screens and Sleep in the United States" conducted by Lake Research Partners. 1,000 US parents and their children ages 12-18 were surveyed online during February 19-March 1, 2019 and via telephone during February 2-27, 2019. Among those surveyed, 500 were parents and 500 were teens and all used a mobile device. The telephone and online data were combined and weighted to be representative of the US parent and teen population. Common Sense is a nonprofit organization supporting children and media.
