US Internet Users Who Are Comfortable with Brands Buying and Selling Their Personal Data, May 2018 (% of respondents)
Note
In March 2018, Facebook provided updates that made it easier for users to download the data they had shared with Facebook (photos uploaded, contacts, timeline posts, etc.). Respondents were broken up into two cohorts: those who had downloaded their Facebook data and those who had not downloaded ... their Facebook data since March 17, 2018, the day The New York Times broke the Cambridge Analytica story.
Methodology
Data is from the June 2018 Sailthru "2018 Data Privacy Report." 2,000 US internet users ages 18+ were surveyed online in May 2018. Respondents were asked if they've downloaded their Facebook data since March 17, 2018, the day The New York Times broke the Cambridge Analytica story. 1,000 respondents had downloaded their Facebook data.
