TV and internet providers sue FTC over click-to-cancel rule

The news: A major industry group for TV and internet providers is suing the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to block its new click-to-cancel rule, which cracks down on predatory subscription methods and streamlines account cancellation processes.

  • The NCTA–Internet and Television Association argues that the FTC is overstepping its authority and that the rule requires costly, time-consuming system redesigns.
