A sweeping social media regulation advances with last-minute changes

The news: A House committee approved the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and Children and Teens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0), advancing the two hotly contested social media regulatory bills.

The measures would go to President Joe Biden’s desk if passed by the full House. Biden has indicated he would sign them into law.
