The news: iOS 26 widened Apple Wallet’s functionality for travel; digital ID; order tracking; buy now, pay later (BNPL); and credit card information, per 9to5Mac.
- Travel: iPhone owners can access in-app airport maps, luggage tracking with Find My, and integrated Live Activities support—dynamic updates about gates, flight delays, and baggage claims.
- Digital ID: Apple confirmed that Wallet will soon support US passports. Travelers can use their Wallets as an ID at domestic TSA checkpoints, in apps, and in person, depending on national and regional guidelines.
- Order tracking: Consumers can more easily track purchases through Wallet on iPhones with Apple Intelligence. AI will pull relevant tracking information from users’ emails into Wallet, keeping info from multiple carriers in one place.
- Credit card information: The Wallet app will now store full credit card information for users. While cards will only display their last four digits, users can save full numbers, expiration dates, and CVV codes within Wallet for safekeeping.
- BNPL: Apple Pay users can now select BNPL payment partners, like Affirm or Klarna, when tapping at checkout.
