On Android devices, the generative AI (genAI) assistant will start taking over for Google Assistant within the next few months, and Google will end all access to the traditional assistant later this year.
In smart home devices, connected TVs (CTVs), watches, and headphones, the rollout will be more gradual, with further details planned “in the next few months,” Google said on its blog.
