The news:Digital education platform Chegg is suing Google, claiming AI search summaries in Google Search cut its traffic and revenue while Google profited from its data in AI-generated results.
Chegg claims Google’s AI Overviews pulls data from its 135 million-question database without attribution. It said Google uses its monopoly power, “reaping the financial benefits of its content without having to spend a dime.”
The lawsuit invokes the Sherman Antitrust Act, challenging Google’s use of AI-generated content.
