About This Report
Despite high penetration of social networks among internet users in Asia-Pacific, population-wide adoption lags. As such, we expect 209.6 million new social media users in the region between 2025 and 2029.
Table of Contents

Asia-Pacific already has a dominant share of social networking users worldwide. But the region will still lead in net user gain over the next few years due to growth in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Among platforms, Meta’s Facebook and Instagram are ranked first and second in users, but the latter is quickly closing the gap. (Please note that our social media forecast excludes messaging apps like WeChat, Facebook Messenger, and KakaoTalk.)

Key Question: How fast will some of the biggest social networking platforms grow in Asia-Pacific, and what will drive growth?

Key Stat: In Asia-Pacific—excluding China—Meta-owned Facebook (1.04 billion users) and Instagram (764.6 million users) will be the most dominant platforms through our forecast period.

This report can help you develop media strategy and allocate budget for campaigns (brands, agencies).
