Ad agencies lean heavily on AI for content but miss out on deeper use cases

The news: Advertising agencies are embracing artificial intelligence—with 97.7% using the technology. And 90% of advertising professionals use AI at least once a week, per Basis Technologies’ 2025 Advertising Agency Report.

By the numbers:

  • 81.3% of agency professionals said AI will be the biggest trend to shape the next decade of digital advertising. A mere 0.6% pointed to short-form video.
  • 80.2% believe generative AI (genAI) will have a somewhat or mostly positive impact on advertising agencies. That’s up slightly from 77.8% in 2024.
