Methodology

Data is from the July 2018 Walker Sands Communications report titled "State of Marketing Technology 2018: Maximizing the Value of Martech Innovations." 300 US marketers were surveyed during Q1 2018. Respondents identified their marketing role as assistant/associate (31%), director (24%), manager (24%) and VP or higher (21%) with marketing experience of less than 3 years (13%), 3-5 years (27%), 6-10 years (31%), 11-25 years (20%) or more than 25 years (8%). Respondents identified the number of employees at their company as 1-50 (18%), 51-99 (14%), 100-499 (25%), 500-999 (12%), 1,000-4,999 (15%) or 5,000+ (16%). Walker Sands is a marketing and public relations firm that specializes in media relations for technology companies.
