Ecommerce marketplace refers to any online retail store that sells goods from a variety of sources including Amazon, big online retailers (Target.com and Walmart.com, etc.), specialty online retailers and travel sites (Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.).

Methodology

Data is from the June 2018 Jumpshot report titled "Uncovering the Importance of Data Insights Across eCommerce Marketplaces." 307 US marketers were surveyed by Dimensional Research during April 2018. All respondents had responsibility for marketing at companies that sold both directly and through ... ecommerce marketplaces and worked in CPG, retail and travel. None of the survey respondents worked for an ecommerce marketplace or a marketing agency. For the purpose of this study, ecommerce marketplace refers to any online retail store that sells goods from a variety of sources including Amazon, big online retailers (Target.com and Walmart.com, etc.), specialty online retailers and travel sites (Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.).
