Methodology

Data is from the May 2018 BRP (Boston Retail Partners) "2018 Customer Experience/Unified Commerce Survey." Over 500 retailers in North America were surveyed online during March-April 2018. Respondents identified their category as convenience and fuel (3%), drug store/healthy and beauty (5%), general merchandise (8%), grocery, food and beverage (13%), QSR/restaurant (5%), specialty- hard goods (29%), specialty- soft goods (29%) and other (8%). Respondents identified their company's annual revenues as less than $100 million (10%), $100 million-$499 million (16%), $500 million-$999 million (13%), $1 billion-$4.99 billion (32%), $5 billion-$9.99 billion (8%) and $10 billion or more (21%). BRP is a retail management consulting firm.
