Worldwide website activity was analyzed to show the number of third-party trackers that collect personal data on websites. The chart shows the average number of third-party trackers on websites worldwide.Methodology
Data is from the December 2017 Ghostery and Cliqz report titled "Tracking the Trackers: Analyzing the global tracking landscape with GhostRank" as cited in company blog. Results are based on data collected from 850,000 users in more than 12 countries via the GhostRank function of Ghostery during May 1-14, 2017 and includes more than 144 million page loads. Countries include Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland and the US. Ghostery is a privacy and security-related browser extension and mobile browser app. Cliqz is a secure web browser developed by Cliqz GmbH.Featured In
