Reasons that US Facebook Users Are Using Facebook Less, May 2019 (% of respondents)

Description

US Facebook users who indicated that they are using Facebook less often or have stopped using it were asked why this was the case. Responses included not liking rants or personal comments, too much negativity, and growing tired of political posts among others.

Methodology

Data is from the May 2019 Edison Research report titled "The Social Habit 2019." Data is also from an Edison Research national telephone survey, "The Infinite Dial 2019" in association with Triton Digital. 1,500 US consumers ages 12+ were surveyed via telephone During January-February 2019. As a follow-up, Edison Research surveyed 850 US internet users ages 13+ online during May 2019. Data from this survey was weighted to match "The Infinite Dial 2019."
