Respondents were asked, "Compared to your 2017 IT spend, what is the increase or decrease (in %) of your IT investments in each of these emerging technologies?"

Methodology

Data is from the January 2018 IHL Group and RIS News report titled "Store Experience Study 2018: Retail Tech Spend Trends." 123 retailers in North America were surveyed in October 2017. 42% of respondents had annual revenues of more than $1 billion. Respondents included headquarters-level staff only and excluded any field-level or store-level employees. 55% of respondents identified their positions as CIO, CTO or VP or IT. RIS News is a news and research website for the retail and grocery industries.
