Data is from the August 2023 Salesforce Commerce Cloud report "Q2 2023 Shopping Index." Behavioral data from more than 1 billion shoppers (22 billion visits) worldwide interacting with 1,989 sites across 51 countries were analyzed. Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware) is cloud-based ecommerce software technology company that focuses on retailers and brand manufacturers.

Data represents activity on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud network, broader industry metrics may vary. Free shipping order share is the share of total orders that shipped at no cost to the shopper; average discount rate is the share of an order amount that was reduced due to merchandise or other discounts (doesn't include product markdowns or reductions in shipping costs); social traffic share is the share of visits where the referring source is a social media platform.
