About This Report
Our debut worldwide digital gamer forecast reveals that growth has slowed considerably, mainly because gaming is already a common and popular activity for internet users in almost every country. But some markets are more enthusiastic than others.
Table of Contents

Digital gaming is already popular among internet users in every country we tracked in our debut forecast, making high growth rates hard to find. However, differences in internet access, smartphone usage, and demographics mean that countries often have very different levels of gaming participation as a percentage of their overall populations.

Key Question: How many people will be digital gamers worldwide, regionally, and in 13 major markets this year, and where will new gamers emerge?

KEY STAT: Digital gamer growth has slowed since the pandemic-driven boom of 2020, but 321 million new gamers will still come online between 2023 and 2027.
