The news: Chase launched an exclusive travel series, Sapphire Reserve Trips, eligible for Sapphire Reserve cardholders, per a press release.
Cardholders will receive 8X points for any Chase Travel booking and can maximize points with Points Boosts, which gives members another 2X points at hotels and flights booked with select airlines through Chase Travel.
Chase’s travel experiences include St. Moritz, Jaipur, Turks and Caicos, Santa Fe, London, and the United Arab Emirates—giving cardholders a wide range of far-flung places to maximize their rewards card membership.
Why this matters: American Express and its Platinum relaunch have cornered the market on experiential, personalized rewards to capture more wealthy millennials into their ecosystem. Amex reported that millennials and Gen Zers accounted for 64% of new signups in Q3 2025, per its earnings, shortly after the Platinum Card refresh.
Sapphire Reserve, which also got a refresh this year, is focusing its 2026 trips on authenticity, wellness, novelty, and exclusivity to serve younger adults’ passion for bespoke travel experiences.
Our take: Authenticity, exclusivity, and experiences connect with Gen Zers and millennials who want luxury from their premium card rewards.
To avoid disappointment from cardholders, issuers should cap enrollment for trips to prevent overcrowding found at premium airport lounges and preserve a private experience for a select group of cardholders.
