Ray-Ban Smart Glasses users lose opt-out as Meta prioritizes AI training

The news: Meta changed data collection and privacy policies for its Ray-Ban Smart Glasses.

  • Meta will save user voice recordings in the cloud by default with no option to opt out—a move similar to Amazon’s approach with Alexa user data. These recordings will be used for product improvement, including training AI models.
  • Any visual content shared with Meta AI is also usable for training and product improvement, unless the glasses’ voice command feature is turned off.
