Many telehealth providers need to deliver a better patient experience

The news: Most patients have grown comfortable with telehealth, but their experiences vary from visit to visit. The majority have dealt with at least one issue during a recent virtual care appointment, according to JD Power‘s 2024 US Telehealth Satisfaction Study.

  • 4,070 US consumers who used a telehealth service within the past 12 months were surveyed. The survey ran from September 2023 through July 2024.
  • The survey measured patient satisfaction with direct-to-consumer telehealth providers and payer-led telehealth offerings.
  • The study showed that experiences fluctuate considerably between telehealth players and even within individual providers.
