Google cites security risks to users as it fights Play Store changes

The news: Google filed an emergency motion with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to delay the enforcement of a ruling that mandates significant changes to its Play Store

The October 7 ruling, stemming from a 2020 lawsuit by Epic Games, requires Google to allow third-party app stores on its platform by November 1. This means Google only has two weeks to make its Google Play store interoperable with third-party apps and payments services.
