Gibson’s 8,000-square-foot Miami store targets fans and musicians alike

The news: Gibson will open Gibson Garage Miami in the Wynwood Art District on September 10.

  • The 8,000-square-foot store is Gibson’s third global “Garage” destination, following its Nashville flagship and a location in London.
  • The space will house more than 500 instruments spanning Gibson’s family of brands, including Epiphone, Kramer, MESA/Boogie, Maestro, KRK, and Gibson Amplifiers.

Zooming in: Gibson Garage Miami offers a range of experiences designed to appeal to everyone from music fans to seasoned musicians.

The store includes:

  • A live performance stage hosting artist showcases, album release events, and community programming
  • The Gibson Custom Made to Measure program, which enables customers to work with in-store staff to select a guitar’s wood top, neck profile, pickups, hardware, finish, and aging technique before it is handcrafted in Nashville
  • The first US-based Gibson Gallery, featuring photography, street art, and music history memorabilia
  • An overhead conveyor belt of guitars referencing Gibson’s finishing process, plus apparel collaborations with local Miami designers

Implications for retailers and brands: Gibson Garage Miami shows how brands can use immersive brick-and-mortar experiences to deepen engagement with their story. By combining a performance venue, an art gallery, and the Custom Made to Measure program, Gibson has built a mix of experiences to serve both casual fans and serious musicians.

That breadth matters because experiential retail works best for brands with the scale, heritage, and margins to treat a store as a marketing investment rather than a pure sales channel.
