The news: Use cases for generative AI (genAI) continue to evolve, but emotional support and task management are leading the pack.

  • Therapy/Companionship is the No. 1 gen AI use case, per Filtered’s 2025 Top 100 Gen AI Use Cases report, followed by life organization (like structuring tasks, priorities, and goals). Finding purpose in life came in third.
  • AI use for marketing ranked far lower: Writing ad and marketing copy was the 64th-most-popular application, up from 88 in 2024. Writing social media copy dropped to 98 from 68 in 2024.
