David’s Bridal opens higher-end boutique to appeal to Gen Zers

The news: David’s Bridal is going upscale to attract a wider range of Gen Z brides.

The nation’s largest bridal retailer has opened Diamonds & Pearls, a high-end boutique in Delray Beach, Florida, that’s designed to offer a more intimate, elevated shopping experience than its traditional stores. A second location is planned for later this year.

A more high-touch experience: At just 2,000 square feet—about a third the size of a typical David’s Bridal—the boutique delivers a setting more in line with independent bridal salons, per Business Insider.

  • It features a tightly curated assortment—roughly one-third the SKUs of a standard store—centered on trending styles and silhouettes. It’s also the only David’s Bridal location where shoppers can try on gowns from high-end labels like Marchesa Couture and Marchesa Notte.
  • The boutique also incorporates large interactive touchscreens that allow brides to browse David’s full catalog or consult Pearl, the brand’s AI-powered wedding planning assistant. Pearl can generate personalized recommendations—down to matching a bride’s Pinterest board.

Our take: David’s Bridal is looking to carve out a niche between mass retail and independent boutiques by targeting Gen Z brides who prioritize curated experiences and tech-enabled convenience. By blending high-touch service with AI-driven planning tools, the retailer is signaling it understands what today’s bride expects. If the concept resonates, it could pave the way for smart, scalable expansion into other markets.
