Key stats you need to know about today

AR and VR Shipments: The International Data Corporation (IDC) anticipates augmented reality and virtual reality headset shipments will increase this year, with the total volume reaching 12.4 million units—year-over-year growth of 48.5%. According to IDC, the growth is largely thanks to "new vendors, new use cases and new business models."

Lettuce Celebrate: Recent data from YouGov answered the question on everyone's mind: How do people really feel about salad? Interestingly, a majority (83%) of Americans said they at least like it. Respondents ages 55 and older were more likely to be fans of salad (90%) than young millennials (60%). And yes, taco salad was one of their favorite dishes—scoring higher than fruit salad, potato salad and tuna salad among respondents overall.

Back in My Day: Data from Pew Research Center, looking at how millennials compare with people in their 70s and 80s, found that young women are more likely to work today (71%) compared with roughly 50 years ago (40%). The study said that this shift of more women entering the workplace "began around 1985, when boomers were young."
