Brand Discovery: Smart TV owners are more likely to discover brands when seeing an ad on TV than through ads seen online, word-of-mouth or search engines, data from GlobalWebIndex reveals.
Device Satisfaction: Some 15% of US broadband households own a smart speaker with a personal assistant, like Amazon's Alexa or Google Home, per data from Parks Associates. And half of these personal assistant device and app users say they're very satisfied with them.
Retail Traffic Rankings: No surprise—Amazon had the most traffic in Q1 2018 in SimilarWeb's general merchandise category. It took 54.1% of share, followed by eBay (23.7%) and Walmart.com (9.8%). For apparel, Macy's (24.4%), JCPenney (12.5%) and Nordstrom (11.8%) were the top three ranked by traffic. Best Buy (40.9%), Newegg.com (16.8%) and GameStop (12.8%) took the lead among consumer electronics sites.
