Canadian mobile banking apps have become virtually indistinguishable from each other

The problem: While Canadian banks have prioritized digital development, they haven’t done much to make any particular app stand out from the competition, per a recent J.D. Power survey.

The results: The gap between the best- and worst-performing apps has narrowed significantly, leading to uniform but unremarkable interactions. And while satisfaction remains unchanged for mobile banking apps, it’s increased for:

  • Credit card apps (+22 points)
