Despite digital improvements, banks still have big usability gaps in their websites

The news: Catchpoint Professional Services ranked 49 banks’ websites, scoring them based on key metrics such as speed, reliability, and seamlessness. Notably, most US retail giants are absent from the ranking’s top 10 spots.

The findings: Speed was the top differentiator between banks’ websites—with UBS coming in first place because of its industry-leading load times, time-to-first-byte (TTFB), and stability. Its success in these categories suggests the bank prioritized a performance-first website design.
