Amex polishes music and entertainment offerings with renewed AEG partnership

The news: American Express renewed its partnerships with AEG, expanding Amex’s rewards reach over venues, festivals, tours, ticketing, and sports.

Amex is the official payment partner across all 40 of AEG’s signature assets and will continue to invest across select venues, including Coachella, Stagecoach, American Express presents BST Hyde Park, and All Points East. Amex will remain a sponsor of AEG’s sports teams, the LA Galaxy and LA Kings.

Benefits for Amex cardholders:

  • AEG Presents will give Amex cardholders access to the most in-demand artists in the US, the UK, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
  • Through the American Express Venue Collection, eligible members can expect benefits like ticket access, dedicated entrances, and exclusive concession offers.
  • Certain venues like The O2, the Crypto.com Arena, and Dignity Health Sports Park will offer exclusive lounges.

Our take: Amex’s dedication to building the breadth and depth of its luxury offerings allows it to maintain its premium branding against competitors like the Chase Sapphire Reserve’s Experiences.

These partnerships also encourage cardholders to bundle adventures of travel and entertainment together. Experiential-driven luxury is popular with young millennials and Gen Z travelers—as seen with Amex’s recent White Lotus promotion—and could encourage cardholders to indulge in airfare to a festival with point rewards for both categories.
