Note

For the purposes of the survey, responsible AI was defined as "a framework with principles, policies, tools, and processes to ensure that AI systems are developed and operated in the service of good for individuals and society while still achieving transformative business impact."

Methodology

Data is from a September 2022 MIT Sloan Management Review and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report titled "To Be a Responsible AI Leader, Focus on Being Responsible." 1,093 executives at companies with at least $100 million in revenues were surveyed worldwide during Spring 2022. Respondents were based in 96 countries, including a separately fielded survey in Africa (n=100), and a localized version in China (n=99).
